| The Putnam Valley Fire Department had an eventful and rewarding week, actively participating in Fire Prevention initiatives and preparing a hands-on demonstration at Town Park for the Annual Harvest Festival.
Fire Prevention efforts spanned several days, with members visiting local daycare centers and Putnam Valley schools to educate children on the importance of fire safety. These visits included engaging discussions, informative handouts, and interactive activities designed to promote awareness and preparedness.
On October 17th, the Town Park hosted its Annual Harvest Festival, where families came together to celebrate the season. Children and adults alike enjoyed dressing in costumes, decorating pumpkins, and most notably, connecting with members of the Putnam Valley Fire Department. Attendees received water bottles and coloring books, and many had the exciting opportunity to explore the fire trucks—an experience that delighted both young visitors and grown-ups. The department also conducted a “What Not To Do” demonstration on frying a Thanksgiving turkey.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the dedicated members who contributed their time and energy to make these events a success. Your commitment to community outreach and fire safety education is deeply appreciated and instrumental in fostering a safer, more connected Putnam Valley. |
