Motor Vehicle Fire•••
On Tuesday May 11th, 2021 at approximately 5:30pm members of the Putnam Valley Fire Department were dispatched to a reported car fire approximately 30 feet away from the pumps at the Bryant Pond Mobil. Shortly after dispatch a Putnam County Sheriff's Department Deputy arrived on scene and confirmed the working vehicle fire in the parking spots located away from the pumps.
As members first started arriving on scene they were challenged with a stubborn fire as the gas tank began to leak and had about a half of tank of gas at the time. Once finished up members assisted the gas station owners with clean up as the fire safety system in place activated but provided no assistance to the suppression efforts.
