Thursday, April 1st at approximately 7:30 PM the Putnam Valley Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Peekskill Hollow Road. Upon arrival, responding firefighters discovered a large outdoor firewood storage building and adjacent furnace fully engulfed in flames and threatening to possibly spread to the nearby residence and also infringing upon the roadway itself. Fortunately our firefighters were able to act very quickly to contain and extinguish this fire and minimize damage.
Special thanks to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department for providing additional personnel to assist with our overhaul efforts.
