As members enjoyed this warm Saturday evening, we were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Lake Peekskill community. As the first responding units arrived on the scene, they encountered a working fire in the rear of the hous. Given the fact that there was a fully involved structure fire, Putnam Valley Chief 24-1-1 requested the 1st alarm assignment and along with that came mutual aid from Continental Village Vol. Fire Department with a tanker , Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department with a tanker, Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association with a Fast Team and Somers Volunteer Fire Department provides a standby engine in our HQ while we were operating. Due to the hot weather and the amount of work being done causing heat exhaustion, Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps was requested with their Rehab unit to provide a cooling station along with cold beverages for members on scene working. The Fire was successfully contained and extinguished by the quick actions by those firefighters first on scene. All units were put back in service without any. Injuries Photo Credit: A.
