On Monday, May 25th at approximately 7:30 PM the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire on Luigi Road. The fire, which originated from a barbecue grill on the rear deck, had begun to spread to the exterior and roofing of the residence. Quick action by the homeowner and the first arriving firefighters, using the homeowners garden hose, managed to contain the fire until our apparatus arrived on scene. Once the initial fire was knocked down, crews remained on scene, working to expose and extinguish fire spots that had spread into the framework of the house.

Our sincere appreciation to the Mohegan FAST Team, the Continental Village, Garrison, Mahopac Falls and Somers Volunteer Fire Departments for providing manpower at the fire scene and covering our Stations in the event any additional alarms were received while our crew was operating the fire ground.

Also thanks to the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corp., the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Fire Investigation Team, and the Putnam County Sheriffs Department.
