PVVFD Locates Lost Hiker

Today (10/8) at approximately 3PM the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the Granite Mountain Preserve to rescue a lost hiker. Using GPS navigation assistance and deploying rescue personnel into the woods, rescuers were able to locate the hiker and bring her safely back.

Thank you to the New York State Troopers, Putnam County Sheriff's Department Mohegan Volunteer Fire Assoc Volunteer Ambulance & New York Park Rangers for their assistance and a special thank you to Nicole Wooten of the Hudson Highland Land Trust who helped take point in locating the hiker.
