Mutual Aid Training...last night the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department conducted a mutual aid drill with the Continental Village Vol. Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Fire Dept and Kent Fire Department. During this drill, members from all departments trained on water supply and hose line tactics. As most of the surrounding areas do not have hydrant systems, local Fire Departments must become skilled and proficient in obtaining thousands of gallons of water from local resources (such as lakes, water tanks, etc), drafting this water, and shuttling it to the fire ground where fire apparatus will "pump" water to the firefighters engaged in fighting the fire.
