July 17, 2018

The 4th of July was a very busy day, starting with 4 calls after the storm passed through. Then at approximately 9:00 PM we were dispatched to a reported working house fire that Putnam 911 received multiple calls for. Chief 24-1-1 arrived on scene shortly after the original dispatch and confirmed the fire and called for our working fire assignment which included assistance from our mutual aid companies. We were on the scene for about 5 hours before we had the fire knocked down and all of our equipment cleaned up. The night however wasn’t over for our members. We then returned to our Station 2 on Peekskill Hollow Road for about another hour and a half getting all of our equipment back into service. Once our equipment was again ready for service we were able to head home, which was around 03:30 this morning.

Thank you to Kent Fire Department who covered our Station 2 and Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association who covered Station 1 and also provided a FAST Team at the house fire. Also, Thank you to Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD who also provided us with a FAST Team and to Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department & Continental Village Vol. Fire Department for both supplying us with Tankers for water shuttles and manpower assistance.
