Sunday - April 22nd, PVVFD held a water transfer drill with Continental Village Fire Department. Tankers were drafting water from Birch Hill and transferring it to the two portable water pools setup by the Highway department. While this was being done, there were hose-lines pulling water from the two pools as if they were being used on a fire. This was to simulate how quickly water was pulled from the pools and also how quickly they pools could be replenished by the tankers to ensure a constant source of water was available in a real life fire situation. It was a good simulation, which ran without issue and gave the members attending some hands on experience with the pumps, hose line and setup/use of the portable pools.
