On Sunday, January 28th - Putnam Valley and Continental Village Volunteer Fire Departments joined together for an Ice Rescue Drill. It was a fairly warm day, yet plenty of ice was on hand . A hole was cut into the ice, an individual in a cold water suit jumped into the water, while another individuals performed various types of rescues. There was the flotation device used around the victim, while others on the shore pulled both individuals from the ice using rescue ropes and a rescue sled was also used.

Thank you to CVFD for coming out on Sunday and all members from PVVFD who participated. Both departments returned to Station 1 for a pizza lunch.
