On Monday, May 29 the Putnam Valley Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Peekskill Hollow Road. Upon arrival, a section of the upper floor of the residence was on fire, with flames showing through the rear of the house and the roof. Firefighters began to quickly work to extinguish the fire and was able to control the spread and eventually knock it down, preventing it from spreading and causing greater damage.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. Thanks and appreciation to Lake Mohegan, Kent and Mahopac Falls Fire Departments who were called in as mutual aide, as well as Battalion 17, the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team and the PV Volunteer Ambulance Corp.

This was our house. We want to thank the fire fighters and the entire fire department. Their bravery and kindness was extraordinary. They worked diligently throughout the evening to put out the fire. We're thankful no one was injured.
