On Saturday, May 15th, the PVFD provided a demonstration on patient extraction using the many tools available to them when faced with a car accident with a patient trapped inside or under the vehicle. They used the “Jaws of Life” and other heavy duty hydraulic tools like cutters and spreaders, which were used to demonstrate how to remove car doors, roofs. These techniques are deployed to provide Emergency Service personnel easy access to anyone inside the vehicle.

The K-9 Unit was also present, demonstrating how their dogs sniff out drugs hidden in a car and take down tactics of an individual attacking a police officer dressed in padded clothing.

Finally, there was an incident at the Expo. The children's bounce house deflated while there were still children inside. Putnam Valley members assisted in getting the kids out, while using the electrical power from the Rescue Truck to re-inflate the house. No one was reported injured from this incident.
