Hi All - Just wanted to let you all know that I made it back home safe (to 81 degree weather). Well, mini vacation is over. Came back to an intact house and and intact critters so I couldn't ask for anything better. It was really nice seeing you all again. I have to tell you that after being there with you on Sunday and then again Tuesday night, I realized that nothing changes - but I guess that's the good part of going "home" - you know it'll all be familiar.
Stay safe and I wish you all the best with the upcoming Holidays and the New Year! I'll let you know how Reno is.........
Much love,
Kathy

Free tickets for "LETTERS HOME" - at The Paramount Peekskill
Griffin Theatre Company
Friday Nov 21 8pm
Voices of American Troops from the Battlefields of Iraq
War letters written are, by their nature, intensely emotional, heartfelt and honest. This moving production, which takes no overtly political stand, reveals a poignant and powerful oral history of the American soldier currently fighting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ten actors dramatically bring to life the stories of men and women who served their country. Based on Frank Schaeffer's books, Voices from the Front, Letters Home From America's Military Family and the subsequent HBO documentary, Last Letters Home.
"Griffin Theatre's powerfully rendered show (which should be seen nationwide) finally brought a little dose of global reality to the stage" - Chicago Sun-Times
(Appropriate for ages 14 and up; Contains adult language)
A BIG THANK YOU TO CHIEF LUONGO for allowing the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps to participate in your Open House on 10/12/08. We gave out many safety handouts as well as membership applications so it was a great success for us!

Hello to all of you!!!
I visit your website almost daily to see what is going on in the department.
Thanks for making it interesting and for updating it continously.
I know you guys are having the Smokey The Bear Day soon. Those days bring back so many memories. Being part of the Ladies Auxillary was a great part of my life, especially making those cupcakes and seeing the childrens face light up when they visited the firehouse. Anyway good luck on your Fire Prevention Week a wonderful service to the residents of Putnam Valley!!!!

How can I thank of all you who responded to the car accident on June 20 at the intersection of Church and Oscawana Lake Road? My most precious possessions, my two daughters, were involved in that car accident and my first reaction when I saw the amount of responders was, this must be bad! Even though both were transported to the hospital, they were not seriously injured. The professionalism and courtesy shown to me and my children by the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was first rate! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sheryl

Hi Guys,
Just to let you know that alot of the kids out here in the desert were so amazed and happy to view all those training photos of the ice rescue. It is something that many of them have never seen and was exciting to them. I am so proud to take groups of them to the school library on the computer and tell them all about what they are viewing.
They say to me " Ms. Linda, this is awesome". So not only are you doing a fantastic job in training for the real thing but also making lots of children happy in a place where ice is just a picture. See you soon the end of the month.
Linda

Congrats on a 'great site', I know it takes alot of work! Our Rupert (WV) Vol fire Dept is sligtly different from PVVFD. Our Chief has been in office for 39 years! Oh, did I memtion he is also President and Chairman of the Board....we just call him 'Supreme Comander'.We have 12 active members and our equipment is OK. After our Monday night drill most of the guys go to the Chief's house to have some refreshment and play a small poker game in which you can lose only $2.00! WV is a great place to live....love the people and the Hills, and PS we have a very good football team. hope to visit soon. Peace be with you.
