Vehicle Fire on the Taconic

Captain Vito Rizzi, June 04

Today at about 1:15PM the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire in the Southbound lane of the Taconic State Parkway in the vicinity of Exit 25.

Arriving firefighters discovered a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, however members were able to quickly extinguish the fire without injury or incident.... (Full Story & Photos)

Memorial Day Services

Financial Secretary Lois Rizzi, May 28

On Monday, May 25th, the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Memorial Day service. Although this years service was a bit different due to the current Covid situation, the members turned out, wore their masks and maintained social distancing, to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Military.

No Caption Memorial Day Weekend comes to a close with a Structure Fire.

On Monday, May 25th at approximately 7:30 PM the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire on Luigi Road. The fire, which originated from a barbecue grill on the rear deck, had begun to spread to the exterior and roofing of the residence. The Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department proudly announces the newest addition to our fleet, 2020 Pierce Ultimate Configuration “Enforcer” Rescue Engine! Weighting in at 53,000 pounds max gross weight and measuring 34 feet plus, our new apparatus has capacity for 1000 gallons of water , capable of pumping 1500 gpm, a foam system and increased capacity for ground ladders and attack lines,
