Wires Down - Pole Fire - Peekskill Hollow Road

Sunday afternoon on 8/18 - PVVFD was dispatched to wires down call on PHR. Upon arrival, there was wires sparking on the ground and a pole fire. Once NYSEG confirmed power was off, members quickly extinguished the fire. There was no further incident and all members returned safely to their respective stations.... (Full Story & Photos)

On Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at the Town Camp, PVVFD held their annual picnic. It was good to see all the members and their families. There's was good food, fun and some left/right/center as well :) We had a number of little ones, always great to see and even some 4 legged friends joined in the festivities.

PVVFD Wraps-Up the Parade Season

The last week of July into August was a busy parade week for the department. On July 31st, we
participated in the Mahopac parade and took home 2nd Best Appearing Department - 15-24 In-Line.
Great showing by the members and family on the street to cheer us on.

That same week was the Ossining Parade on August 2nd. This parade was extra special, as it was

On Tuesday (7/23) the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to train with the Putnam County Hazmat Team. This team is specially trained and equipped to respond to emergencies that involve hazardous materials such as fuels, liquid and gas chemicals, providing mitigation and response services in such situations.
