Firefighters visit PV Elementary School
Firefighter Asad Ba-Yunus, October 12
On Tuesday, October 11, 2002, firefighters visited the Putnam Valley Elementary School for our annual Fire Prevention presentation.
Students were taught about escape routes, meeting places, where not to hide, as well as stop, drop, and roll if your clothing catches fire. Firefighters also dressed in their full turnout gear so that students could see what they look like and to not be afraid if they ... (Full Story & Photos)

Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association Celebrates 100 Years of Service

The Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was proud to participate in the Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association’s 100th Anniversary Parade. The event was held in conjunction with the 116th Annual Westchester County Volunteer Firemen’s Convention and Fire, Police and Ambulance Departments from the entire area joined the celebration.

PVVFD called to help knock down large brush fire
Firefighter Asad Ba-Yunus, August 17
On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, around 4pm, PVVFD was dispatched to assist Garrison Fire Department for a large brush fire and responded shortly after with a crew of firefighters, our Brush truck 24-3-1, Utility 24-8-1 and our gator that holds water to help contain the fire. The fire was 3 acres and we returned to service when majority of the fire was knocked down.
