On Sunday, March 25th., members of the Putnam Valley Fire Department conducted a training drill on vehicle stabilization and entry using various tools, such as cutters, spreaders, window sheers and more. This training provides firefighters with the skills to secure and stabilize motor vehicles that are in a potentially dangerous position, usually resulting from an accident, so they will not move ... March has been a very busy time for the Putnam Valley Fire Department – it’s only the 12th and we have had over 60 calls covering several storm related issues such as wires down, transformer fires, emergency medical service assists, flooding pump outs, and trees down on houses, roads and wires throughout the town. Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department Congratulates Tom Sawyer and Lois Rizzi (Dave Pawlina unable to attend) on their graduation from Firefighter 1 on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services in Carmel.
