It was an “egg”-ceptional day to do some training!
Today members trained on the usage of the Jaws of Life by playing a competitive game of Jenga followed by an egg relay race. The purpose of this training was operating the jaws as precisely as possible causing minimal disruption and stress during situations requiring patient extrication. Assist to Agency

Financial Secretary Lois Rizzi, December 29

On Sunday, December 29th at 5:23pm, PVVFD was called out with a request to assist the Sheriff's on scene with a vehicle in the stream off Wiccopee Road. There was no injuries reported, however, the Department did put out barriers in the water as a precaution to contain any potential gas/oil leakage from the vehicle during it's removal.

No Caption Candy Can Run

On Saturday - December 21st, a team of PVVFD members were out in various locations, handing out Candy Canes to the public in the spirit of Christmas. Thank you to all those who spent there day on the roads in the cold weather supporting this event.

Motor Vehicle Accident

On Sunday December 22nd, PVVFD was called to a single car MVA - rollover on Church Road. Upon arrived, the driver was already out of the car, and with the road closed, the tow truck was called. The road was opened shortly after the car and debris were removed.

Early Morning Structure Fire

Financial Secretary Lois Rizzi, December 13

On Friday - December 13th at 7:28am - the PVVFD was dispatched to a structure fire on Canopus Hollow Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the structure was fully involved. The structure itself consisted primarily of wooden framework, as it was currently in the construction stage. All respondents worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire and thankfully no injuries were sustained.
