Ice Rescue Training

Sunday, February 28, 2021 members of the Putnam Valley Fire Department took advantage of the remaining ice at Carrara’s Beach in Lake Peekskill and trained on Ice/Cold water rescues. Although we fortunately do not get many incidents involving this type of rescue, we take every opportunity to train and maintain our proficiencies with these skills and techniques.

Structure Fire Sunday 2/14

On Sunday, 2/14, at approximately 10:15pm, the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Lake Peekskill. Upon arrival, responding personnel observed a working fire apparently originating in the garage area of the residence. Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire minimizing further damage.

PVVFD Blood Drive Results!!!

The blood drive PVVFD held on Saturday - January 9th, was another success, as a total of 85 pints of blood was collected.
The overall 2020 pints collected total was 280 - outstanding year. The goal for 2021 is 300 pints, so please, help us make our goal and donate when our next blood drive is scheduled - more to come on the date/time.
