Busy Start to December: PVVFD Handles 24 Calls in 11 Days

The beginning of December continues to be very busy for the members and officers of the Putnam Valley Vol. Fire Department. In just 11 days, PVVFD has responded to 24 calls, including motor vehicle accidents caused by rain, snow, and icy conditions, wires down due to high winds, and a variety of other emergencies.

First Snow Fall makes for a Busy Day for Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department

Tuesday December 2nd was a busy day for the Putnam Valley Vol. Fire Department, as the weather created slick roads and hazardous driving conditions.
The department responded to 4 calls involving motor vehicle accidents on the local roads, and on the Taconic State Parkway. In addition, there were 2 other emergency calls not related to vehicle accidents.

MVA Incident on Sunset Hill – Putnam Valley Market Building

On November 22nd, PVVFD responded to an MVA, involving two vehicles, with one striking the Putnam Valley Market building. All parties involved were evaluated and declined medical assistance. Once the scene was deemed secure, handed over to the Sherriff, all units returned to service without further incident.... (Full Story & Photos)
